For Women

Hormones are very important for all of us, especially when it comes to reproductive issues. I herein emphasize two significant problems:

  1. The indiscriminate use of sex hormones as a fountain of Youth. Beware of the side effects!
  2. Endocrine Disruptors, AKA, Xenoestrogens. They disrupt function AND structure.

HealthDay (11/15, Munez) reports, “Uterine fibroids can cause uncontrolled bleeding and infertility in women, and now a…study finds an unexpected culprit: Toxic chemicals called phthalates that are present in everything from fast-food packaging to plastic water bottles.” Investigators “tested primary cells isolated from women’s fibroids” and “found that something known as MEHHP, a breakdown product of DEHP, activated a particular cellular pathway that triggered tumor growth.” The study findings were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
