I loved this book. I hope you read it. The author’s conclusions reflect my attitude, up to a point, about the Health Care System and the Wellness movement. Unlike her, I feel both have good things to offer, like emergent care and a simple plant-based diet and light exercise. Other than that, I was disappointed that, as an immunologist, she does not take into account the Microbiome in our gut; it would have answered her confusion about the role of macrophages.
Still, her book should be required reading to all who seek a balanced, integrative and wise approach to health. Her last chapter nails it: WHO ARE WE? The ancients pondered that question and admonished us to KNOW THYSELF. Once we find the answer, health is a moot point, a welcome side effect of living according to our true nature.
